Name/Artist Nick: Kostya Kayro Personal URL (optional): @kayro_k Country: Russia Work title/duration: Leto 55:51 Year/country when/where it was made: 2019 Russia/Spain/Poland/Hungary/Finland Short description (1 sentence): A summer of 2018 represented in local gigs and big festivals, picnics and weddings, mondays and sundays, days and nights, unique moments and daily routine. Explication (no more than 600 words): This film came out of nowhere and made itself. In the summer of 2018 I came to 4 big music festivals: as a journalist, as a musician and as a visitor. I started filming in June and the idea of capturing everything that happens to me and then editing it in an avalanche of short instagram story-like moments came up as something obvious and inevitable. By the end of the summer I had 12 mini dv cassettes filled with live shows of half a hundred artists including most of the actual Russian indie rock scene, obscure local jokes, basic skateboard tricks, all sorts of celebrations and hang outs, urban landscapes of Poland, Hungary, Finland and Russia, love and hate, life and death. I believe it to be a unique, true and new film experience but most importantly portraying life as it is.
